Westfield NJ K-12 Public Schools (WPS) has a problem: Its academic excellence is being replaced by social and political activism, led by senior administrators, and supported by a majority of the BOE and its president. Parents have been awakened to what's going on, and this website is where we can share what we've learned with you.

Transparency

We're fed up with the district withholding information from the public. The public is entitled to know what's going on in our children's classrooms, and what their teachers are being trained and instructed to do. COVID remote school gave us a glimpse and we did not like what we saw.

Accountability

When mistakes are made, those responsible must be held accountable, just like you would be if you made a mistake in your job. The district's accountability strategy is essentially to nod their heads and wait until people forget about it. We're not so easily fooled.

Common sense and balanced classrooms

Activist administrators, the majority of BOE members, and some (not all) teachers are hyper-focused on things that aren't academics, like pushing social and political agendas, and they see this as their top priority. Classrooms need balance and neutrality.

Focus on academic excellence

Instead of focusing on pushing social/political agendas, or dividing us along racial or ethnic lines, the district must focus on uniting our children in the pursuit of academic excellence. Focus on things like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), not Critical Race Theory (CRT).

Political agenda-free classrooms

Administrators and teachers should keep their politics at home where it belongs. This is not a left or right issue: no child should be subject to political or social indoctrination from a teacher on either side of the aisle. All Americans are lucky to live in the greatest country on Earth and our kids should know that.

Diversity, equality, and inclusion

We strongly support diversity, equality, and inclusion of all children regardless of race or ethnicity. Balanced classrooms that unite children in the pursuit of academic excellence foster an inclusive environment for all students.

Let kids be kids

Stop trying to turn our kids into social and political activists. Childhood is a precious time and the district is not going to take it away from them before they're ready. Don't sow seeds of discontent or infect them with the problems and politics of adults.
